Projekt Modora (B) – Kathleen Kinzel und Annabelle Obrikatis
During the summer semester of 2026, students focused on the “Kulturzone / Barocke Nordzone” as designated in the Masterplan Schlosspark 2045. The focus was on small, adaptive buildings, structures, and systems that facilitate cultural use while offering flexibility, sustainability, and accessibility. An essential component of the course was therefore dialogue with local stakeholders. Starting in March 2026, the students conducted on-site research, analyses, and interviews. Several development scenarios were derived from this work, and teams of two to three students used these scenarios to produce different design proposals.
Temporary (A)
The Kulturzone is conceived as a fully mobile and reversible system. All elements can be assembled flexibly, transported and used in different locations, allowing the park to remain largely unchanged.
Compact (B)
A compact cultural space creates room for smaller events and everyday uses. A permanent basic infrastructure provides the foundation for markets, workshops, readings, yoga sessions or small concerts.
Extended (C)
For larger events, the Kulturzone expands beyond its core area. Through modular extensions, smaller formats can be scaled up into festivals, markets or larger events.
Integrated (D)
The Kulturzone is envisioned as a year-round cultural campus that connects the Barocke Nordzone, the large meadow and the Orangerie, bringing together different cultural uses within a long-term overall concept.
